Hornet track teams compete at Plymouth State Winter Classic

Plymouth, NH - The Lyndon State College men's and women's track and field teams opened up the 2017-18 season at the Plymouth State University Winter Classic.  On the men's side the Hornets finished seventh out of nine teams.  The Hornet women finised tied for seventh among the eight entrants.  Franklin Pierce University took first place in both the men's and women's meets.

On the women's side, Jessica Hillman scored in the 60 meter hurdles and the long jump.  In hurdles, crossed the finish line in in 12:10, good for eighth place.  She finished sixth in the long jump with a distance of 4.45 meters.  Rachael Valentine also scored for the Hornets, finishing eighth in the 1600 meter run in a time of 6:59.59.

For the Hornet men, Benjamin Cornell took fifth in the 800 meter run in a time of 2:11.10.  He also captured eithth in the mile in a time of 5:01.93.

The Hornets will now train until their next competition, the Wesleyan University Invitational on March 24th.
