Hornet women runners finish 8th at Bowdoin Invitational
Brunswick, ME - The Lyndon women's cross country team competed at the Bowdoin Invitational on Saturday.  Senior Sierra Hargrave (St. Johnsbury, VT) covered the 5k course in time of 22:50, followed by freshman Rachel Valentine (Clarksdale, AZ) with a time of 24:25.  Fellow freshman Ashley Darrell (Concord, VT) finished in 24:55, and was followed by Junior Alesha Donovan (Northwood, NH) with a time of 24:58.  Senior Libby Start (Randolph, VT) also finished in a time of  24:58 to round out the scoring for the Hornets.
"The ladies did an excellent job today running as a pack, although it was hot today, they stuck to the race plan. The reduced 2-5 gap is what we had hoped to see," expressed coach Chris Ummer.  "This team is certainly taking strides in the right direction."
The women's cross country team will be in action next on September 30th at the Vermont State Intercollegiate meet hosted by Middlebury College.
